Welcome to the WordPress.com site about the American Psychological Association’s recommendation that typists put two spaces after sentence-ending punctuation.

As noted by someone earlier, the two-space rule related to typewriters, not to word processors. This decision looks extremely arbitrary to me. I am amazed that some little Napoleon(s) at the APA has/have taken it upon themselves to decree a change a standard that has withstood decades of use and was itself a response to a need for a new look after typewriters were no longer the medium of print production. This new two-space rule is really, IMO, silly and a big waste of energy.
Ms. Katherine, thanks for the comment.
